The Vāhana Series within the Sirpam Collection explores the sculptural forms of the sacred vehicle beings that accompany Hindu deities in South Indian iconographic tradition. Rather than focusing on narrative or symbolism, the series celebrates the artistic treatment of form, proportion, ornamentation and craftsmanship that define these enduring sculptural motifs.
Each piece is handcrafted in panchaloha bronze using the traditional lost-wax casting process, drawing inspiration from temple sculpture and classical śilpa traditions. From the strength of the Siṃha to the grace of the Aśva, the series highlights the distinctive visual language of vāhanas through carefully rendered contours, decorative detailing and balanced composition.
The Vāhana Series is conceived as a study of sculptural form—where vāhana becomes the subject itself. Designed as artistic bronze sculptures, these works are equally suited for collectors, curated interiors and those who appreciate the craftsmanship and design vocabulary of South Indian bronze art.
